My horses stand in the rain most of the time even when they have a shelter, so enjoy your wine and novel! The last major hurricane to hit the northern Outer Banks area was Isabelle in 2003. The residents of Corolla and Carova evacuated, and many worried about how the horses would fare. Not only did all of the horses make it, but they came back to find a little filly had been born.
