Trausti isn't what I would call a "spooky" horse.  In fact, he's been Mr. 
Dependable here - but we didn't rush him either when he first moved here and 
was in his mourning phase for his old home.  He's seen a lot on the trails 
and never let us down.  That reaction tells me that he's still on 
guard...waiting for the Dread Pirate Roberts to "most likely kill him in the 
morning."   I'm glad you're giving him a little time to relax, and for him 
to realize that you intend to be his person for the long haul.  In the 
meantime, until he trusts you, please don't approach him with a sword and a 
parrot on your shoulder, ok?   :)

I do, but I have used colored muck buckets for waterers at times, and 
Trausti wasn't bothered by the blue tarp on the ground or the hanging blue 
swim noodles or the shredded blue tarp at the "car wash".  I don't think 
it's color related, not strongly anyway.  I think he just needs a little 
time.
