There are two schools of thought that are actually pretty similiar.  I
think everyone agrees that wormers need to be rotated so that you
aren't allowing your horses to build an immunity to any of them.

Some people (like me) use a different wormer every year - so this year
is my Quest year and I will give Quest every 3 months and give
Ivermectin probably Jan 1 (to get the bots)  Next year will be my
Ivermectin year and I will give Ivermectin every 2 months then the
next year will be my Strongid year.

Other people like to rotate the wormers within the year. Ivermectin,
then Strongid (or whatever the generic is) and Quest.  Just be sure to
give Ivermectin sometime after the first really good frost.
