I agree that correct stirrup length is vital for posting. Otherwise there isn't enough bend in the leg to create a spring between the hip, knee and ankle. I learned from swimming that these angles have to be correct for a good push off from the wall. I would suspect that it is the same to post, except more for control of the sitting and perhaps asmooth rhythm. I know if my stirrups are too long I 'plop' down in the saddle and the same if they are too short and it all gets a bit bumpy. It took me ages to sort out the correct length on all the different school horses! Sue coombes
