She also made what I think is a very persuasive argument against the dropped noseband. It is the next to last video on http://www.hestakaup.com/content/view/63/125/. I was thinking of making a separate link to it, but then I felt that it would be more effective when the horse, rider, and trainer were established with credibility in the context of these demonstrations. We see some horses at a very high level where a full mouth bridle is required in competition. They are very careful about what goes around the jaws and can interfere with breathing and comfort. I was very busy when I read the post by, I think, Karen Thomas pointing out how many of the problems about Icelandic horsemanship have been due to isolation and lack of exposure to the experience and learning of other countries. Something to that effect. I was going to write her off-line in agreement, but the effort got lost. I feel so strongly about this that I have taken the domain http://lifewithhorses.com in order to house the broader topics I am documenting on video. In addition to the saddle maker there is a huge collection of dressage videos I am putting up as well as more modern training as seen in thokkiblog.com. (Does that qualify as NH, Judy?) I am hoping that some learning is going on. It has all be very educational for me! Stan http://lifewithhorses.com
