I think you misunderstood what I said. I think I probably referred to the motion as being "subtle", but I mean in appearance. (Not "gentle.") This is true with treed and treeless saddles. Most of us who started riding in traditional "English" lessons (Nancy...?) probably remember learning to post with no stirrups at all! (Oh, the agony at first!) When posting, your weight should be across your inner thighs, with your abs and lower back getting a workout.<< Believe me, I think posting can be a workout. It's good exercise, and it takes most people (people over age 7 anyway) at least a little while to get the rhythm down.
