Hello,
I just wanted to update on my new grandbaby. Sierra Ariel was born on
July 3rd...eight days overdue. My daughter Jenni was induced. About
10 minutes after Jenni gave birth to my granddaughter Sierra, Jenni
started to bleed out, she was rushed into OR and had an emergency
hysterectomy to try to stop the bleeding. Jenni continued to bleed
out, the surgeons did not know what was causing this. Jenni went into
massive shock while in OR, she was on the table for over six hours
...while the doctors tried to control the bleeding and save her life.
A specialist was called in to help stop the bleeding. Jenni was given
a total of 12 pints of blood during the surgery...as she was not
clotting. And the surgeons had no idea why she was not clotting. Not
sure if it was due to the drugs used to induced her or something wrong
with her blood/body. After hours of being worked on...she was
stabilized and they kept her on the table for almost one hour....to
make sure the bleeding stopped and she was clotting. After this she
was closed up and taken to ICU, where she remained on a ventilator and
was closely monitored for bleeding. Later the next day...Jenni
continued to stabilize and she was taken off the ventilator. <;p]
I'm happy to report that both my one and only daughter and
granddaughter are both going great! Jenni is exhausted and thanks to
morphine....not suffering too much pain. Jenni has a long recoverer
from giving birth and fighting for her life.

Sierra Ariel was 8.10 lbs and a bit over 21" long, she has strawberry
blond hair. Sierra is a very special baby to our family. And most of
all....she has my beautiful daughter for her mother and my wonderful
son-in-law for her father. My family is very grateful that Jenni is
going to be okay. And we have been blessed with Sierra....our miracle
baby.

Here's a link to a few photos. They are not the best...as they were
taken with a cell phone.
