Why are we attracted to the breed. here is why I was attracted to wanting an icelandic horse:
1. I had wanted a pony my entire life. I would write notes to god and leave them in my mothers underwear drawer "Dere Gid pleze snd me a pony." 2. I am a "gaited" horse person, believing even if they are poorly gaited, gaited horses are more smart and sensitive than other breeds. (jmo) 3. an icelandic to me was a gaited horse that was also the pony i had always wanted. i hope they keep breeding them to hold on to the things about them that make them well gaited and looking like a pony. Janice -- even good horses have bad days sometimes.
