RTFM. Thank you!

1.4.0 won't check against the program version anymore, but a new schema version. we only will be upgrading that when there are

- changes
- upgrade scripts

for minor release versions. major releases normally contain(ed) fixes for various rdbms.

but it's always a good idea to fully read the upgrade instructions. and please always get the current docs according to your install target version, or even the latest and greatest. it does not make sense to use 1.0.2 docs against 1.3.1 setup, as we had several guys not finding the upgrade hints ;-)

kind regards,
Michael

Did you upgrade idoutils?

http://docs.icinga.org/1.4.0/en/upgrading_idoutils.html

You should be able to find the scripts in icinga-1.4.0/module/idoutils/db/ for your given database... there's a script in there that should help but don't forget to check out the docs!

Error in /var/log/message after upgrading from 1.3.0 to 1.4.0:
Error: DB Version 1.3.1 does not match needed schema version
1.4.0. Please check the upgrade docs!

    Any suggestions?
