Joseph, Thanks for your help. You're right, I wasn't using the particular documentation that you sent me the link for. After going through the documentation, it seems to me that the I need to give the icinga user in mysql a password. In this case the password would be icinga. Is that correct? Because if I do, it's not spelled out in the documentation. Understand that icinga works fine. I can access the classic interface for icinga just fine. The only problem I have is accessing icinga-web. And the documentation for that, which I accessed via a link within the documentation that you sent me, does not specify that when the icinga user is created for the mysql database, that it has to be given a password.
