I was looking at the archive you linked, that's where I started paging
through.  I'll try the google index trick see if that helps.

I'll check the Icinga Portal, I can always use translate.google.com to
be able to read it.

I struggled at first because it wouldn't let me enter a key and there
was no obvious way to generate one.  After clicking around the area
(highlighted in yellow) it finally briefly showed a button with
opposing arrows.  After clicking that, it generated the auth_key for
me.  Was quite frustrating and confusing because it didn't do what the
documentation said it was going to do.  the docs also did not mention
anything about clicking a button (that I couldn't see anyway) to
generate a key.

1) the documentation says I can, so I should be able to.
2) there is no obvious way to generate one
3) I know my VP is not going to want to enter in a 20+ char api key,
even once. Especially since he knows it says you can manually enter a
custom key
