Hi there,

actually we have a monitoring server which monitors our infrastructure and
some facilities. The facilities are checked via check_by_ssh.

I`m planning to install icinga core in our facilities and send the checks
via nsca to our main monitoring server.

- When icinga accepts passive checks, do I have to configure the
hosts and services on both machines? Or does icinga generate hosts and
services according to the data delivered by nsca?

- If this is done automaticlly, how do I set parent services and/or
hosts?

- On our facilities I don`t have to use the ido utils, because the
checks responses are stored on our main monitoring server. Am I right?

-

Thanks in advance and kind regards,

Marc
