At the same rate, I am fairly sure that Nagios (as late as 3.4.x) may also
serve up service alerts with a host down event ... it's one of the things I
am actually trying to fix in some of the configs I still manage that I have
not yet managed to transfer over to Icinga.
That being said, it would probably be helpful to see the relevant parts of
your config (though I am also looking at this on my phone following
absolutely zero sleep). It is also interesting to note that these alerts
were only sent one second apart... does the service alert continue to spam
on its normal recheck interval, too?
