In 2010, the Fordham Sailing Team will celebrate the 60th Anniversary of its
founding and the 10th Anniversary of its return to College Sailing after a
27-year hiatus.

Six years ago, SAILING WORLD selected Fordham as its #1 “Up & Coming” Sailing
Team. In a way this year, we fulfilled SW’s prescience by coming as close to
qualifying for national’s as ever. We missed the “Big Dance” by 13 points.

Qualifying for the ICSA Coed National Championship Tournament is our goal and
we seek your assistance in attaining it.

Fordham is a Club team coached by one fulltime and one part-time volunteer.
Minimal financial support from the university does not afford the employment of
a fulltime, professional coach. However, through the diligent fundraising
efforts of our student-athletes and the generosity of our supportive
Afterguard, we hope to engage the services of a recent graduate of a top-notch
program starting in September of this year. Our fleet of 10 420's is in good
condition and our Sailing venue on Long Island Sound and Eastchester Bay is
among the best in College Sailing. Our team is highly motivated and their
attitude and work ethic are excellent.

Specifically, we seek an intelligent and accomplished former College Sailor
with a proven track record of success as an undergraduate, who may be working
or going to graduate school in the Greater New York Metropolitan Area during
the 2009-2010 fall and spring College Sailing seasons. He or she will be
employed as a professional Assistant Sailing Coach with the goal of leading our
program to the next level, i.e., qualifying for the national tournament.
Personal integrity plus excellent communication and interpersonal relationship
skills are mandatory. Candidates must be free on Tuesday & Wednesday afternoons
from 3:00 – 6:00 PM and be available to coach our team on several weekends at
important qualifying and inter-conference regattas.

In addition to the psychic income of taking a team on the cusp of qualifying
for national’s to that level, appropriate financial compensation will be
included. Fordham is an equal opportunity employer.

If you fit this description or are aware of someone who does, your input is
welcome and your recommendation will be appreciated. My contact information
follows. Thank you very much.
