Edmon, "distaste for ACE" is pleasing to the Anglophone ear, however I believe the CNNIC concern (and here I must rely upon a reading of a version of their slides which was earlier than those presented yesterday, and which I assume you saw, and of course some three hours of technical discussion with the CNNIC team) with ASCII Compatible Encoding schemes was not just an aesthetic preference. Causastion and psychology of "eager implementers", or any propensity to "sway" towards or away from "the proposed standard" are not in-scope. Finding what is expected to work and what actually doesn't work, are. Discussion of the former is depricated, discussion of the latter is not. Cheers, Eric
