--- Start of Idrisi List message Just a quick question about the use of DEM's in IDRISI32. I recently acquired a DEM, which goes with the 24 bit aerial image that I have. Both have been geo-rectified. The image was a tif and was converted to a 24 bit through TIFIDRIS. I then created a separate image (keeping the 24 bit) by splitting it up into three with BIPIDRIS and then using COMPOSITE with an 8 bit output (1% / 2.5% saturation) With the dxf file, I have undertaken the conversion through the module DXFIDRIS, where I extracted points, lines and polygons from the dxf file. In doing so, I have selected the user-defined option (3 - since I am extracting 3 different features) and integer attribute to assign to features. I then inserted the layers of the points, lines and polygons on the aerial image. In doing so, the extracted "lines" represent the contour lines of the DEM. I have tried to do a raster / vector conversion with LINERAS with the lines file being the extracted lines from the dxf file, and the image to be updated as one of the three bands from using BIPIDRIS. It will not support a RBG24 or RBG8 file. Does this sound right??? The aerial image is perfect in RBG24. I have tried to save the composition as a 'raster layer as new IDRISI layer' with the contours lines and aerial photograph present. I then used ORTHO to give a 3-D image. However, it does not work I did however get it to work with one of the BIPIDRIS images produced and the saved composition image, but the image is of a very poor. Does anyone have any points for creating a 3-D image with ORTHO?? I would like to drape the 24 bit image over the contours lines... is it possible?? Many thanks, John Hamers _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
