Dear All,
I have notice some faults with the service upgrades for IDRISI32 and I was
wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problems??
The first problem deals with on-screen digitising... only minor problem...
but if you zoom right in on a raster image (so pixels are easily
recognisable) and digitise you may notice that the digitised line moves a
considerable distance when you move the image left to right, up & down or in
and out,... I have found it pays to digitise in the middle of the image, as
digitising on the edges can produce the incorrect placement of points, which
will throw out the digitised line / polygon. After trying this, I went back
to the original version of IDRISI32 without the service updates... it does
not seem to effect it and had no problems.
One other problem is with the 'new' print composition... after hours of
trying... it does not seem to register that I have a raster image present on
the screen. I have tried to save it as a map composition, but it returns the
message that 'Palette file 'RBG24.smp' not found'. The image that I wish to
print is in 24RBG, but have also tried 8RBG Composite, MINDIST, MAXLIKE and
Bipidris images.
Pressing the print composition button on Composer can also bring up a
message saying 'Metafile is invalid'. The option of 'OK' is available, but
after pressing this, the computer freezes. If you try again, after closing
down the program, it will take about 20 minutes to display your legend,
title, north bearing, etc... but no image. So, again, I went back to the
original verison of IDRISI32, and I had no problems what so ever... I was
able to more or less compose the printed information on the screen and then
print in landscape paper size.
So, I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced these problems with
the service updates??
