Well I've looked and looked and looked on the web for details/parameters
for this projection, and not had any luck.. lots of descriptions and
references but no way to implement it. My problem is that I want to get
a couple of row/path blocks into UTM or latlong for a paper at the SAAs
(archaeology). I know I can order stuff from USGS in these projections,
but Nevada (btw!) has a wonderful state data warehouse
(NEDs/geology/landsat/etc.) with free Landsat ETM+ available, just in
the SOM projection. The best I can tell, this means the data has already
been corrected, so I could probably just resample? Of course I'd rather
try to create a .ref file to facilitate the whole process (presumably
I'd get better accuracy too?) To the best of my knowledge there isn't a
.ref in Idrisi for this (seems like it would need some kind of lookup
table for the row/path inputs?), has anyone made a VBA app for this
perhaps? Any ideas are welcome.
