The IESG has approved the following document: - 'Integrity Protection of In Situ Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (IOAM) Data Fields' (draft-ietf-ippm-ioam-data-integrity-20.txt) as Proposed Standard
This document is the product of the IP Performance Measurement Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Mahesh Jethanandani and Mohamed Boucadair. A URL of this Internet-Draft is: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-ippm-ioam-data-integrity/ Technical Summary In Situ Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (IOAM) records operational (including telemetry) information in packets while they traverse a path in the network. RFC 9197 specifies data fields for IOAM (a.k.a IOAM-Data-Fields) and associated data types. This document specifies integrity protection of IOAM-Data-Fields for Intra-IOAM-Domain use cases. Working Group Summary In order to flag security-related design issues early in the process, the WG sought for early Secdir reviews. Ben Kaduk performed a very comprehensive review and provided suggestions to resolve the issues. The authors engaged and have taken into account the outcome of that discussion by tweaking and adjusting the specification when appropriate. Other than that, there were no controversies. Document Quality There is an implementation listed in the datatracker. Personnel The Document Shepherd for this document is Thomas Graf. The Responsible Area Director is Mohamed Boucadair. _______________________________________________ IETF-Announce mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
