I agree about the "new" mail message, but how do subsequent agents as the forwarded mail is propagated "know" that it is new, unless the From: is changed? To them, it is indistinguishable from a mail from someone at the original discardable domain. Note than you cannot assume the ultimate recipient is in a position to identify special cases that apparently are unsigned emissions from a discardable domain. Our normal expecation is that will be done by his boundary ISP (where his mailbox is likely to be kept). -- Charles H.
