The general form of this issue is that MIME processing varies widely and maybe wildly. This is especially true for matters of nesting. Any design that relies on consistent handling of nested MIME constructions is likely to fail. (I got another example of this earlier in the week, with a multipart message sent through a mailing list, with different forms of the same content. The MLM stripped all but the raw text version. Not nearly as pretty to the recipient.) I don't see this as profound insight, but merely another example of designing with modest expectations for a variable Internet. d/ -- Dave Crocker Brandenburg InternetWorking bbiw.net _______________________________________________ NOTE WELL: This list operates according to http://mipassoc.org/dkim/ietf-list-rules.html
