I feel the need to defend Civ, it is a 10 hour game or there about so you
need to devote time to it. I have rarely ever seen any one knocked out
completely. Remember it is not your strength on the map that matters it is
the civilisation cards that you purchase. You can always get back in to a
position because the disaster cards will hurt the big guys more. If you want
to speed up play but a strict time limit on commodity trading.

I am not sure if I was already tired when I began to play, but after
nine straight hours playing... I do not think the owner of the game
ever
proposed to play again, at least not to me! There might be people that
like the game, but I suppose that either they knew the rules
beforehand
(and therefore could play faster) or they need more than one sitting
to
finish a game. Like many games that let play many people, some can be
out of the game after one or two hours, so they might sabotage the
game
just because they do not see any possible comeback into top position.
Maybe I was unfortunate with the game and the players, though. Have
you
tried "Attack" yet? It looks more maneagable for one afternoon.

recommend War! Age of Imperialism. If you want to play Civ i can
bring it into Cassidys some time
