true, though the new 8meg-cached WD are quite good for our needs, and
the price difference per disk of $200 vs. $600-800 makes IDE a winner... 

if not RAID-5, then two disks at a striping setup will do OK, and we
define logical volumes with EVMS for each mirror and extend each when
needed.

still... anyone knows who we talk to in Ligad? (and if they are still
employed there... :)
