I'd be happy to manage everything with packages, but I dare you to find an updated rsync RPM for RedHat 6.2, which we run on IGLU. For that reason, all recent security fixes (OpenSSH, OpenSSL, rsync) were 'make install'ed. > and... how about a new distro? Possible. I once upgraded a RedHat 5.2 server to Debian in half-a-day.
