This means this is the new device you have connected to your linux box. Now try to mount it but before it login as root user give command
su it will ask for password give the root password then try to mount with the command: mount -t iso9660 -o ro /dev/cdrom /cdrom here i am assuming cdrom is the disk you want to mount. Best of Luck.
