I am not saying Firefox is the best, but there are a couple of other
softwares particualrly Gtalk and Google SketchUp (for architects) bcoz of
which a large no. of people dont migrate to Linux. Firefox with its
limitations, can be compared to any other web browser. In this regard, I
made the above statement.
There are many other non-google softwares such as AUTOCAD
for architects which has no Linux alternatives (I dont call Qcad
one!!!!!!!!!!!). Neither can these softwares run with Wine effectively. In
my field (i.e chemistry) a lot of programs come for windows only and the
makers havent even heard the word "Linux". The Linux programmes are very
basic. In this respect, the last thing Linux needs is a web-browser.
