An RJ-45 connector typically has 8 wires that connect to the various
endpoints. Coaxial wire has only 2. It is always easier to work with
cat 5. BTW, if you are trying to use cheap home cable wire, let me
tell you that that is not well suited. I think that has a impedance of
50 ohms ( per meter or something, not sure about the unit) but the
proper coaxial wire of networking has 75 ohms (which has how the
interface is designed in the NIC).
