its gr8 that ppl are getting interested in foss.but what i would like to bring in concern to you ppl is that when we organise a workshop it has to keep up with a reputation that we will be encouraging ppl to adopt these tchnology first and if they find it intersting then they can master it with further assistance ppl lik us. the prime concern is TEACH PEOPLE TO START USING THEM AS A BETTER OPTION RATHER AS AN ALTERNATIVE. now the solutin lies in 1.giving them a hands on installation ,customasing and enhancing their knowledge in LINUX 2. as people are more used to gui so we can teach them to use new solutions which are more graphic friendly.that is how they will get attracted. because it seems so vague y anyone (a newbie) would like to use something which initially seems so complicated( refering to cui). 3. as there is more and more laptop usability is increasing it should be our primary conern to give demo to people how they can use their bluetooth,wifi and lan to their regular job (configuring them). because only then can we expect them to use to regularly...and once they start doing it they will do rest things on their on.
what we all should remember is that our parents only taught us how to walk... we started running our own.... so now when we are in a position to do something like that lets do it from the basic level. last not the least after we are done with this workshop i had request u ppl to help me orgainise a similar event in my college(ASET,IP University) just like we did it last year. and let me know if i can be of any assistance to any one of you .
