Hello LUG, I have a DELL STUDIO 1555 Laptop which has an Intel HDA sound card.Recently I installed some alsa player plugins from Synaptic Manager. After that I was able to play almost all audio and video file formats but there was absolutely no audio heard whatsoever.I checked the speaker settings as well.I guess the sound card drivers are not installed.If that is the case,how can I check this?
Also,kindly suugest method to install the necessary drivers and a possible tweak to the existing sound settings or some turnaround solution so that I am able to hear the sound. When I go to system->Adminstration->Hardware drivers,I am able to see only drivers of only Broadcom Wireless NIC and ATI Graphics card drivers.
