I think unlike OpenOffice, M$'s shitty Office does not let you export to
PDF.
It does - you have to get it from the M$ website once you have a working
version of an authorised copy of M$ Office. The M$ Office PDF converter is
quite good! I guess we open-source enthusiasts will have to accept this.
However much we like open-source software, we have to still contend with
the fact that many companies and industries we have to deal with being in
academia, work on M$ products day in and day out. M$ Word and not \LaTeX,
M$ Powerpoint and not \LaTeX tools such as beamer and PDFScreen, M$ Excel
and not the OpenOffice spreadsheet. I guess non-open-source software such
as the Acrobat reader and flash are a bit less evil. Communication with
the industry is often a big problem - sad, but true!
