Hi people,

I have a question related to package installation.
I found a Fedora Spin named Fedora Electronic Lab which had a lot of
packages related to electronics pre-installed. I would like to use it, but I
am already using Ubuntu and I think installing a new distro will involve
some changes in the disk partitioning, which I don't want to get into as far
as possible.

I thought of an alternative, that is, installing the Fedora package manager
(yum) in Ubuntu and then getting all the electronics packages through yum
using a Fedora repository. I have already installed yum, but I am not sure
that installing packages through it is a good idea, since apt and yum might
get into some inexplicable conflict with each other.

So, if there's anyone who has successfully used yum in Ubuntu, can you tell
me how to set up the software sources (something analogous to
/etc/apt/sources.list in Ubuntu)? Or if it turns out that using yum is not
viable, can someone suggest a solution for my problem?

Thanks,
Mihir.
