> Ah well, I did that in the last meet. The response was... interesting.

Pratul:

That response was singular in source. I personally felt that he
unfairly shouted at you and I let him know that as well. Dont judge
the meeting or the group as a whole based on that. You were hogging a
lot of the conversation (which is fine since you had that much more
knowledge) and you were also talking with you neighbour pretty loudly
even when others were giving their talks. This i found pretty
irritating. I did not point it out right then, but I should have. Your
statement that "Only rich people can afford MACs" with a MAC sitting
infront of you is also kind of arrogant. It pisses off people. You
dont care if it does, but I am telling you it does. You seem to be a
solid technical person, but you community interaction skills are
probably not correct for lug meets such as these. Perhaps your quips
will be better appreciated and understood at larger meets where more
technical people are around. Till we reach that stage I guess you
should not attend our meets. This is a practical suggestion. I am not
being sarcastic.

All:
Lets forget all this. None of us are perfect. I have seen quarrels
much more violent than this in Bangalore. FSMK and FSUG fight like
they are born enemies. We are far better than that.
Lets go ahead with our meetings. Lets have a moderator and some
decorum. Tangential discussions should be carried out either outside
the hall or with the permission of the speaker. This will clean up
things.
