http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_graphics_file_formats refers to gif format patent as as expired , it caught my eye because on our main page we have a gif animation. want to know from legal eagles or people with info what is the status wrt to foss , is it ok to use it now as a file format? or still it comes with some restrictions.
