Just to add a bit to this ..I do know of some large companies that actually charge money from fresh engineers to do an intern-ship with them. I know for example that Porsche in Germany requires that a fresh engineer pays upto 3000 Euros to Porsche for doing an intern-ship. Not sure if this is prevalent in India.
