Slightly out-ofcontext, but I want to focus on a much more important issue than the institute using something. IIT Kgp.... I guess is worse than the situation at IIT D. We had some interns from there, and they are happy to use pirated copies of Matlab and MSVS. Inspite of the fact that they might end up working for one those, and are going to be fleeced by such piracy. And, worst I heard they never tried Linux because tough to use - this from the would be technological stalwarts of this country. Its not pathetic, its disgusting when an engineer says he doesn't want to do something as it's difficult. So, I don't know how these FOSS communities can help. Its like assuming a few sincere leaders/IAS officers can correct the whole society. Most of you hate MS, that's your call. But piracy is not an option. Can the dean/institute director do something about it? Most of them are too old to be radical, but then Unix is old too ;) -- Lots o' Luv, Phani Bhushan Let not your sense of morals prevent you from doing what is right - Isaac Asimov (Salvor Hardin in Foundation and Empire) Please avoid sending me Word or PowerPoint attachments.
