Well, rumors that NS was going to put the P&E back in service through Farmer
City are just that. My trip on the Gilman Line this AM showed me the
diamonds have been removed and the IC straight railed through here. The
automatic interlocking is still in service though. I wonder if the CNIC or
NS has applied yet to the FRA to abandon it too? It was here last month, so
the removal must be pretty recent.

Now, the block limit sign and block station sign west of the interlocking
would make a nice souvenir. Don't worry, I already have two sets of them
mounted in my garage, so I'll let somebody else get them. I would bet there
are at least a couple of more of them along this route to along with
mileposts and the like. As an NS stockholder, maybe I should stake a claim
to them. :)

Was the fellow at Rt 24 on the Gilman Line this AM anyone from our list? I
was on the 1038 coming north and you now have my picture to ruin your
camera. We did a Clinton turn this morning. No hot times for this as I'm
tired and have been awake for some 26 plus hours now. Ain't railroading
great?

I took GLME again and go south tomorrow (Saturday) morning. Well, should be
on duty tomorrow at 0800, it all depends upon the dispatching and the mood
of the railroad gods as to what time we got out of Markham.
