Also, at least last I was there, the view out the back of Preston's left
a lot to be desired (I think intentionally)
There are very few decent restaurants "Downtown" in Lafayette. Preston's
on a saturday evening is not the place you want to be showing slides
anyway (Unless you think beer might preserve them?)
Now, here's an idea.. and its just an idea. At least a year ago, the
10th floor of the Bank One bldg in Lafayette was vacant (since it was
the company I worked for that moved out of it). Maybe you could eat
across the river someplace like Nobel Romans or anywhere else that is
Campus side, and then head over there to the top floor of the building?
You can see a big, big chunk of the city from there, but it would block
the view of the Wabash through the central part of town. (like the 9th
st. area)
I say this is just an idea, because I probably can't make it. I expect
to still be living in Charlotte at that time, so is it worth a 12 hour
car ride to get there??? (Also why I suggest but am not voting)
Obviously, if I have other reasons to visit family in the area at the
same time, I wouldn't miss it!
