Very true.  Then again, they are meant for different purposes
anyway.  The BE guys have gone on the record saying that they are
not competing in the OS market with either LINUX or BSD; they use
both of these in-house for various aspects of BE development.  This
is one of the many reasons why BE is seamlessly (almost)
interoperable with Linux (atleast the filesystems and the LILO
part).
