With more and more s/w biggies jumping on the OSS and GNU/Linux bandwagon,
the evolution of different licensing models will be of a lot of interest,
as these will chart the future of OSS's development and proliferation.

The SCSL is an amalgam of open source principles and for-profit licensing
models of the past. It has been crafted in the spirit of openness avowed in
Eric Raymond's now-famous article, "The Cathedral and the Bazaar"
