NIIT (National Institute of Information Technology), the market leader among PTIs (Private Training Institute) in India, is all set to teach Linux instead of SCO Unix to their students enrolling for the "career courses", during the second semester of their new WCC curriculum. (This is puccha khabar, as of yesterday!) With the other market leader Aptech, having already shifted their attention to Linux, the news is that even the smaller, niche players in the training market, like Brainware and STG and others joining in , to make sure that their courses remain on the "cutting-edge". BTW, NIIT's Salt Lake Center had this notice on their board.....it said that they are going to expose the students to Linux 6.0... On being questioned, a faculty member glibly told me -- "Oh! yeah!...we are going to have Linux version 6-point-0 in the 2nd Semester"...*ROFLMAO* Cheers, --Indra.
