Hi friends,

Finally I got over my lathergy and upgraded the kernel to 2.3.10 ... having
long delayed the use of kernel 2.2.x on my own boxen (despite having
installed up to kernel 2.2.10 on other pplz boxen)...my gateway box is
really zipping along :D

About the new kernel -- it seems to be holding up fine. However, while
doing 'make modules' the inclusion of the loop.c gave errors (IIRC,
something about the smap structure not being defined or something)
and kept on exiting. Removing the references to loop.c seemed to
resolve the problem...

The complete kernel src for 2.3.10 is 14Megabytes...I have it on a Zip
disk.....if anyone wants it, I might be persuaded to come over
sometime with my Zip drive and install it, against some small consideration ;-)

Cheers,
--Indra

(NOTE TO INIGO: the problem at your place has nothing to do with the
version of gcc ...I managed to come to that conclusion, at least I hope I
have ;-) Try doing 'make mrproper'...)
