Yes, you have the season wrong...it was Spring '96 not Summer '96 ;-) 

But look here folks, those of you non-slackware users who are planning to give the 
distro a shot, be aware of the
following issue -- the latest version of Slackware is 4.0, and AFAIK it is not glibc 
based. The forth-coming release
--> 4.1 will be glibc based.

If you are thinking of buying Slackware 4.0, mail me in private, I will arrange for it.

summer 96 ( kernel 1.2)

and september 98 ( 2.0) I believe

don't know if there were any other releases after that the next one was 
redhat 5.0 I think
