Can we have a weeny-teeny, global nuclear holocaust on the night of 31st Dec, 99, it
may serve many purposes --

1. No Y2K bugs will ever go into action as computers and networks will be knocked off
by the EMP storms produced during
the explosions.
2. Ensure near-complete success of the "ONE DAY IN PEACE" concept, as almost entire
populations get wiped out
(cockroaches are rarely known use firearms).
3. The dust clouds reaching upto the stratosphere will make sure that sun-light gets
blocked, leading to lowering of
the global temparature. This may solve the problem of melting polar ice-caps.
4. Medha Patkar and the Narmada Bachao Andolan will cease to be a thorn in the
government's side.
5. Put an end to population explosion, evolution vs. creation debates, racism,
consumerism, neo-colonialism,
capitalism, communism....ie all *isms will become *wasms
6. Possibly put an end to Microsoft. Since MS never published their source-code, the
survivors will have to take
recourse to open-source code, some of which are bound to survive the nuclear
firestorms. As resources will be scarce
during the reconstruction period, writing bloatware will become identified as a crime
against humanity.

Can you explain exactly what I wrote above or the mail u sent has to do with Linux or
our LUG for that matter?? Still,
if you feel that it was important for you to share it the folks on the list, shouldn't
you be prefixing the
subject-line with "[OFF-TOPIC]" or OT??
