> When was it when you first installed Linux ...? (just curious...)
Hmmm... Sometime around late '96 coz I remember that PCQ
came out with with the second Slackware release about 8 or 9
months afterwards. It was only later that I got my hands on
the earlier distro ( when was PCWQ Red & Black CD w/ Linux
on it published ? I'm bad w' dates..)

I tried it first in the Primary 4.3G HDD [FAT32] then on the
Secondary Slave HDD of 249Mb[FAT 16] and then on the 8G
[FAT32] but then I hardly got to see how they behaved in
FAT16 for the winlinux.bat sets things up with loadlin.exe &
vmlinuz and refers to /dev/hda1 for each case ...and hence
you get to see "Kernel Panic..."
I will only know the results of FAT16 vs FAT32 as I will
sit down with WinLinux only after Dec26 (after Exams) and
try setting the refs to /dev/hdd1 /dev/hdc1 (as suitable in
each case and then have a looksee...
BTW WinLinux warns you that "you have already installed ..."
etc but then proceeds to install in the new location and
leaves all the old stuff behind and you can then try it by
running the Batch File in the .\linux\wmlinux\ folder...
Also the command.pif and various other stuff r screwed
around with and thus one should expect the Win 9x system to
behave a bit dicey after the install... Especially if one
decides to play games like DukeNuken et al after wards...
R u gonna give it a test ride ?
