My GVC 56K seems to give me pretty good service and conforms to all the
norms mentioned. Also the price is about .5K kess & sells for 3k. If on
a pinch you could try the 1.2K 56K Internal Ones. Although I haven't
tried them in Linux as I do not like the internl modems. But they are
quite happy as per as functionality is concerned.
