Hi Abhishek,
The latest PHP binary rpms have MySQL bindings plugged in already.... my
personal preference is of course to do a compile from PHP source, so that things
get configured the way I like, including support for stuff like LDAP, XML
parsers, IMAP etc. etc.
RTFM aka --> "Read the README and INSTALL documents with your PHP distribution,
these carry a lot of pointers about what to do and where to look"
The same info along with pertinent errata is available from the php.net
website... I suggest you go through the same....
If you are the kind who feel more comfortable in reading a book for
instructions, you can try Chapter 2 of "Professional PHP Programming" published
by Wrox Press... the book addresses upto PHP 4.0 beta, but the info is fairly
up-to-date and useful
Incidentally, if you are serious about PHP, you should be using PHP 4.0.1pl2
from the php.net website. You could try your hand with the Zend optimizing
compiler beta... its truely a great beta product as far as I have seen of it.

PS. The correct terminology here would be to say that you want to compile PHP as
an Apache module with MySQL support. It is PHP that gets configures, not MySQL
;-)
