Apologies are not all required nor asked for... its all right that you understand the
facts better now :)

That's certainly a good suggestion! But frankly Robin, I have posted so many times in
past, asking our members to come
forward with original articles/FAQs/HOWTOs/<anything interesting>, even today in one
of my earlier replies to you. And
what has been the result? *Suggestions* about what can be done! Suggestions are
definitely important, without those it
would be difficult to find our direction. However, it becomes slightly tiring when all
that materialise are more
suggestions! Mind you, I am *not* pointing you out when I say this, I am speaking in
general.

Do you find anyone posting to the list about sending in any write-up by him/her/them?

Thats what the list for -- a forum for interaction between the Linux enthusiasts
in/around Calcutta!

Care to explain that a little clearly? According to the subscribers list of ILUG-Cal,
we have a regular membership of
~130 people. How many do you see surfacing on the list? The LUG doesn't belong to one
or a select group of individuals,
it belongs to us all. It is up to all of us whether we are visibly or not. We all have
to care about the LUG for its
successful existence. Yet all I hear is mostly a lot of noise about how things should
be, instead of any positive action
that makes the difference.

As the ILUG-Cal co-ordinator (a position I occupy based on the nomination by the
members) it has always been my earnest
effort to ensure that anything that affects our LUG should be decided in a democratic
fashion with full knowledge of the
members. I fail to comprehend what you meant, so would you care to explain that
statement?

BTW, Even LI has a membership of around 1500 members, but less than 75 people interact
regularly, even you know that...

Mind you, I am not holding up your opinion/motives as being questionable... Far from
it, if you (or anyone else) feel
you can make a difference, that you would like to maintain the website, please go
ahead, I can assure you atleast of my
full co-operation in the matter.

regards,
--indra.
