i am always late in replying WOW... so the brief introduction is as follows ....
The embdeded linux is one of the bleeding edge trend in the open source world. As i am working in embedded linux, i thought that it will be nice if i can give some demonstration of embedded linux to the iLUG frnds. I am having single board computer powered by NEC's VR series CPU. That single board system is eqipped with 32MB ram, 32MB flash, 100mbps eepro100 based two ethernet interface, serial port and ALI base IDE controller. It is jointly developed by Laser5Co & NEC. Based on that board, Laser5Co/NEC has released the fastest boardband router in Asia Pacific zone. It is already released in Japan and in the early next yr, it is going to be released in U$. The most important thing is that, this board is running 2.4.x based Linux kernel and having all the functionality needed to be act as broadband router. Added to these, it is having SSH/telnet server, a tiny web server, dhcp server, iptables based firewall builtin along with pppoe. Everything is packed in 2mb and in the complete operating condition, it consumes only 11mb of memory (all the servers running and pppoe client connected condition). As I am involved with the development of the complete userland and kernel for this device/broadband-router, I feel, i can give u some hands-on experience of it. I do hope that ppl, who are not even from CS bg, can feel and enjoy the power of emb-linux. (OHO!! one thing i am very bad in giving presentation ... hehe) for the demonstration, i only need the power connection and lan connection. iff u have any question regarding this, feel free to ask me. ;-P iti archan [EMAIL PROTECTED] ph - 99831164278 ps.
