A "wysisyg" editor based on vi, which can do what Partha Da has in mind
and, moreover, whose capabilities are limited only by the user's
ingenuity, is described in

"Build your wysiwyg HTML editor". (Its not limited to HTML, although
that is the case described in detail in the article.)
