Dear Friend
Windows 2000 advanced server requires 256 MB of RAM
(minimum). If you facing any problem installing it, it may be due to the
above.
The following steps may be of help in installing
Linux and Windows on the same machine.
1)Insert Windows Boot disk and create an RAM drive. 2)Partition the drive in minimum 2 partitions using fdisk. 3)Insert Windows CD and install windows on one partition which becomes the C drive. 4)Insert Linux CD. Select Disk Druid in RH (custom partitioning in Mandrake) The partition with windows installation will be shown as hda1. Select the other partition to install. Create root, swap partitions . 5)On LILO writing option, write it in the MBR. 6)On finishing installation, remove CD and reboot. On rebooting, on the command prompt boot, type 'dos' for windows or 'linux' and boot to the respective OS. However for partitioning, I prefer Partition magic,
use it if you can.
Have you tried the upgrade option in RH
7.2? Once faced such a problem when trying to install PCQ
Linux 7.1. It turned out that a particular file was corrupted and the
installation got aborted every time with a message to submit the bug to
bugzilla.
Keep in touch and tell me more if you face any
other problems.
Yours
Chayan
